Jewelry for a Cause

When I first started selling my work, I tried to think creatively about ways to connect with the community, ways to collaborate with other artists to collectively add meaning to this work and ways to express gratitude through giving back.

It is an understatement to say that the Covid 19 pandemic has “changed everything.” All that was traditional about how we connected with one another has gone by the wayside for the moment, and this historic time we are living through is one of the most difficult in our nation’s history. The pandemic has forced many of us to re-evaluate how we live our lives, how we set our priorities and the way we conduct ourselves as contributing members of society.

With that, I have decided that in this largely virtual world we are living in, and even after we get back to “normal,” you will always be able to visit my site and find at least one piece of jewelry listed for which I will donate up to 100% of the sale proceeds to a worthy cause.

Today I listed the first of these — “A New Day Mother of Pearl Petite Dangles” to benefit Circle of Hope in Needham, MA. Check back and look for the tag line “Jewelry for a Cause” on my product pages to find more like this. It’s one small way we can make a difference together - I create, and you score one-of-a-kind, handmade jewelry through a purchase that helps our community.

With warmth and gratitude,

Shira
