Shira’s work will be exhibited in Italy for the first time this October during Milano Jewelry Week with Artistar Jewels. Two unique pieces have been created by invitation and will be on display during this much anticipated event!

Hosted at the prestigious Palazzo Bovara, Artistar Jewels has become an international reference point for artistic and contemporary jewelry designers and will show the work of over 200 artists from around the world.

Newton Open Studios 2024

Visit me this year at 43 Lincoln St. all weekend long (Saturday and Sunday, 11 AM to 5 PM) for this much anticipated annual event! This year’s NOS will feature over 120 artists across all 13 Newton villages. I will have about 70 available pieces on display for viewing and trying on. Lincoln Street is centrally located with cafés, restaurants, and retail shops. Come enjoy the weekend with us and support local art!

Join us for an art-filled weekend in April (4/29-30, 11am-5pm) exploring the work of local artists! This year I am thrilled to be exhibiting with Myra Abelson in her beautiful Newton Centre home for an intimate and relaxing experience.

NOS visitors will find a mix of outdoor and indoor exhibiting spaces. Each location might have between 1 and 15 artists. Visitors can preview artists’ information, visit artists’ websites, and prepare routes to optimize their time. 

Artists will be exhibiting in their backyards, on their porches, in garages, and inside private homes. Traditional NOS red balloons and printed signs indicating locations will be visible throughout Newton.

Newton Open Studios produces community arts events that bring together the artists and residents of Newton, Massachusetts. It is a non-profit, funded mainly by artist registration fees, but also by donations from generous individuals and businesses, and in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

There will be multiple locations open across the city of Newton during this annual event, featuring work across a variety of media. We hope to see you there!

New Art Shop, Holiday Edition @ Trio Newton

A nice sampling of my work will be on display and available for purchase for three weekends this holiday season at New Art Shop @ Trio in the heart of Newtonville. This fun venue offers an opportunity for locals to visit and try on some pieces from my studio while shopping the wares from other local artisans!

The New Art shop will be open on the following dates and times:

Fridays 11/19, 12/3 and 12/10 from 11am-8pm

Saturdays 11/20, 12/4 and 12/11 from 11am-8pm

Sundays 11/21, 12/5 and 12/12 from 11am-5pm

I’ll be there opening day 11/19 from 3:30-8pm. Please come by and say hello!

Battle of the Rings

Danaca Design Studio is hosting the 2021 official “Ring Smackdown.” This is a head-to-head single elimination, juried ring competition and virtual event.

64 rings out of 166 submissions were juried into the competition by esteemed jurors Kirk Lang and Cappy Counard. My ring was one of them! I am humbled and honored to be in such amazing company for the event this year.

The friendly competition starts on May 3rd and runs for about a month. To VOTE, follow @danacadesignstudio on Instagram and participate in the stories poll.
